OK, i have replaced my master with a another new one and i am still having problems with the play. I have set the pedal to correct specs...i have bled it repeatly and i have adjusted the slave correctly. But i am still having to pump once in order to build up pressure. Could there be some worn like my clutch plate or something?

I just bought a 85' FJ60 and the clutch in that is butterly smooth. Very solid and has pressure everytime.

I cannot figure this one out.

Jason, I can't remember if you said you checked the slave and each wheel cylinder for leaks. You should pull the rubber boots off of each one and look for fluid on the piston or in the cavity. Sometimes the boot hides a leak.

Also, it took me 3 tries last time I worked on my brakes to bleed all the air out.

Sorry, don't know what else to offer.

Theo, I don' think he has his clutch master hooked up to his brakes, but if he does, you're right. That is his problem! :flipoff2:

What brand parts are you using? Who are you getting these from...

Bleeding the air out of the clutch system can be a real pain sometimes...similar to any fluid system...

Good luck!

Air, try cracking the bleeder and let it gravity bleed for a few minutes, then have someone slowly pump a couple of times and bleed.
Sometimes if you pump fast the air does not come out.
I just replace the wifes, on her FJ60 last nite, it was bleeding off if you pumped it slow. I did not even have to bleed it.
