Check / clean the contacts on the bulb holder/socket. Bend up a little if necessary. Also check the islands on the print board for corrosion.

Are the turn and high beam indicators working?

Thanks for the advice, I'll do that as soon as I can. And yes, the indicators and high beam light is working just fine (I didn't replace the high beam lights, and my assumption is the two in-and-slightly-higher bulbs are for the indicators - I replaced those too, and they're working fine.

I replaced all of mine with LED. Just fyi, if you replace the indicators and high beam with LED, don't use the highest lumins...I did and they blinded me at night so I had to replace them with lower lumin globes.

As for your other lights: I say embrace your inner Larrikin and remove the helmets.

Fixed the bulb on the left-hand side, turns out the socket has to be put in the right way up :\ But both sides are working, the right is a lot brighter than the left, but at least I can see both sides now.

I have a 1980 FJ40, a few bulbs were out, except the left blinker and high beams. I disconnected the battery, replaced them with new LEDs, and only one works (left side) any ideas?

With led bulbs positive has to go to positive and negative to negative. Try installing them 180 degrees
