Thanks man, see the thread I just started about mine, thought you all would like to see some work being done, and i got the star for something.

Hey, new to this forum (NC club, not mud), I live about 20 minutes from Uwharries, and was wondering when exact date & time most of ya'll were planning on wheeling. Will be in a stock FJ-80 though, so if ya'll believe that I will come out with too much damage/be unable to make it there I might just ask to ride along with someone else or see if my buddy will drive his Heep over there for me.

I've had my stock 80 on almost every trail there - running boards, LTX's and all. There are usually by-passes on the more difficult sections. Falls Dam trail is a great break in with a stocker. Not going to bash Heeps but your stock 80 is MORE than capable.

Question: How do you live only 20 minutes away and not already know this?

There will be a group going Sat and Sun this coming weekend.

I'm 15, sunday will be my 16th birthday get my liscense on the 2nd. And I've never really tried to get over there, got 5 friends who frequent it, but never felt like tagging along, they all gripe for gas money. If all goes as planned I reckon I will meet you guys there saturday, someone just tell me a time and I will be there. Problem is, where do I get a trail pass, and meeting at the Eldorado Outpost, right?

Yep, at the Outpost. Trail passes there too.

Uwharrie Sportsman has them as well.

Looks like Sunday is the better day. I've only been to Uhwarrie once and it was VERY dry (easy). I have no idea what it would be like in the mud. There's one pretty steep hill that could be interesting if it was slick.

Saturday
High: 82
Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Saturday Night
Low: 68
Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely in the evening...then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Where do you guys typically go to wheel?

Tellico is my place of choice, but then it was only 3 hours from my house before. Now it's more like 5+ hours. I have only been to Uhwarrie once and it was in my old truck that was tweaked, geared, locked, and bumped. Now I have a stocker with straight metal, so it will/should be more interesting for me. Tellico this year was a LOT of fun in it. It completely dumped on us, so the river crossing on 5 was over my front fender lips Friday morning. As in my 34" swampers were completely under. I was so jazzed I didn't have time to get photos of it. Somebody has them because the cameras were all over the place, I just don't have them. There were two jeeps with me on that crossing and both of them had water problems about a week after. :)

Muddy mess over here, 3"+ of rain here, 5-6"+ in URE, sorry guys, but I'm backing out of this trip..I'll be over there Sat. the 13th, if anyone wants to join me, then chime in.
