I'm not a fan of the jute insulation and besides that I tore it all off the carpet when I stripped the interior. It was nasty, it stunk, and there has to be a better way. So I need to know if I can use something like this for padding instead of replacing with new jute? An do you think this stuff is safe for car interiors? In other words will it leak/bleed off harmful gases with the heat? Thanks.

I contacted the company and will post their reply....

Hello,
I am interested in using your Leggett & Platt 12.7mm Foam Carpet Padding in my car as replacement for the jute insulation under the cars carpeting. I know it is not designed for autos but it looks like a superior product to the stock insulation that comes in cars. I need to know if this padding is safe for an automotive environment? In other words, Will it bleed off gases when exposed to a high heat environment, etc...? Please let me know your thoughts on this matter.
