I like to drive with the side marker lights on in the daytime. This presents a problem with being able to see the clock.

When the lights are turned on, the clock dims. It is virtually impossible to see on a bright day without moving very close to it.

Is there a mod that will disable the clock dimmer?

turn your headlights off.

oh...you're serious?
uh...no, I don't know of one, nor would I bother with it.

If you really want to dig into it, check the wiring around the dimmer switch area...

I believe you could cut the green/grey or is it green/yellow wire going to the clock but don't take my word for it as those silly little clocks are damn spendy.

I was going to build a periscope out of toilet rolls and mirror scraps, cause this seriously pisses me off .. maybe I should get off my ass and pull out the electrical manual, and cut the right wire, or feed it directly to ignition on .. tired of not being able to see the time EVER while I'm driving except for nites.

but if you disable the dimmer then it will be way too bright at night.

I guess you could put in a switch but that would get to be a pain switching it every time you drive.

Buy an aftermarket stereo with a built in clock display.

Maybe we could put the clock dimmer on a timer ... :flipoff2:

Nah...how about a photocell? When it is dark it is dim, during the day it is bright! :D
