No, it's not my birfs...

My 80 only makes these noises while under load, ie accelerating.... not while braking.... an audible squeaking appears and disappears.... It sounds like it's coming from underneath the rig... I have NO idea what it is... I've checked both d-shafts as thoroughly as possible... I'm running out of ideas, and I'm sure it's somethign obvious that I'm overlooking...

Any thoughts?

You'll need to isolate the source. IdahoDoug impresses the neighbors driving around the block with a long piece of water hose shoved in his ear and duct taped underneath the rig. A funnel shoved into the end adds a nifty touch.

A more elegant technique involves modern technology. Get yourself a pair of cheap FRS radios and tape one to various pieces underneath the truck and listen on the other one.

C-Dan duct tapes his wife to the underside and has her yell to him as they drive around the neighborhood. They live on a dirt road. I don't recommend this unless your insurance (both of you) is paid and only if you've been married a while.
