When I first made my recentered hummer rims I cut the centers out with a torch.. Did I mention that I suck with a Cutting torch?? Add to that I did not have access to a lathe, and frankly, I am too dam lazy to spend time with a 4" grinder cleaning up the booger cuts.. So, they stayed all boogered up for ohhh almost 3 years.

I finally punched a hole in one of my Iroks deep enough that it was replaced (4WP is worth something..) and I figured now was as good a time as any to fix the rims..

I finally found a connection for a lathe so the cleanup was effortless. Got the rims cleaned up, sandblasted and a new coat of paint.

I think they look nice now :D

But they are still Heavy ass pigs!!!

People might assume I am something other than a hack ;)

No rock ring? Don't wanna add anymore weight to those? I bought mine already recentered w/ 3/8" plate centers. They took crazy hours to plasma/ grind off a cheapy rock ring, inner & outer, & pound them straight. Then, I used a 2 1/2" holesaw & drilled 32 lightening holes (4 rims). Finally, I added a CJ Dean rock ring. Yeah, these biotches are still heavy!

Are you sure about that?..................:flipoff2:

They due look purty.

The 12 bolt outer is about twice as thick as the 8 bolt ones. So far, I have not needed a rock ring.. But I have a spare outer ring if I do manage to kill it.

I do have slightly bugered threads, but the hub protects them fairly well. Plus, they tend to clean up nicely when you remove the nuts..

In 2 years I have had to take them apart once.. Not a big deal to me..

Besides, I am slowly convincing myself to go another route instead of the studs.
