I used a single stage acrylic DuPont paint to do the inside of my tub. Came out great, but after I was done painting a few things came up and I didn't get a chance to clean it that night. Now it's been 3 days or so and wondering the best way to clean it up nice. it's not a gravity fill sprayer, has a little plastic tube etc with paint all in it. Boy that hardener really hardens eh ;) I used mineral spirits and that helps some but definitely not gonna make it shiny clean. Any tips would be great.

Thanks,

I hope that whatever came up was worth more than the sprayer!! Good luck!!

You may need to take it to a body shop and see if they'll soak it in their gun cleaner. Just don't soak it too long or you'll eat it away.

x2.

I have a feeling that your paint gun is toast.

It takes me less than a minute to clean my gun, maybe 3 if I get it totally spic-and-span. It's also a good reason to buy a decent gun with replacement parts available. If worse comes to worse with a good metal gun, you can soak it for days on end in MEK or something, and then replace all the O-rings that get destroyed.

Na, its OK if you soak it in gun wash and pull it apart. Hardly likely it would of hardened past the needle and into the gun over three days.

If you had left primer in the gun, you might be so lucky, most solevents will not touch primer once its dried.

Religiously clean your gun after each use and leave some gun wash in the cup, drop the nozzle into the cup and leave it until your next use.
