PRICE

Alot of work has been done since original posting.
I have spent over $12k
Asking $8750 NOW (with everything Samurai relate that is in my shop, take it all).

I am only selling this because I barely drive the Sammy once every two weeks.
I have a Fj Cruiser that I wheel and my DD, and a Fzj80 that I have been spending alot off time driving and building.
(Just picked up and working on a second Fj80).

I picked this rig up back last Nov. And had it shipped up to NYC from down south.
This rigged sat in my friends garage over the winter until this past April. I finally got off by butt and address some issues it had when it arrived here in NYC. I also registered it in April and got it inspected in late April. I bought this to make it a DD and a weekend wheeler. I put less than 1.5k miles on it since I got it. Drove to and Wheeled it once at Rausch Creek PA.
This Sammy is one off the cleanest I was able to find.
Frame is mint, body has a few very minor dents and ding. Very minimal rust on the Body.
Rust at
rear pass fender. Aprox 1”x6”. Rest of the fender are excellent.
Three/four small rust holes (size of a dime or smaller) in the rear cargo floor pan area, by the gas cover.
These have been cleaned and rust reformed. And painted black.
Had plans to replace all the panels with OEM this summer. I am very anal and very picky.

Rig came with the following upgrades freshly installed by the previous owner.

Zuks Off Road - My-Side carb conversion - Harley-Davidson 40mm CV. $650
ZOR Zuks Off Road

Sky Manufacturing Stage 5 Spring Over. It includes DT3000 shocks, Driveshaft spacers, Crossover link, Longer Brake lines, and Shock loops. Here is the link. $675

It also has 4 Brand New Kumho MT KL71's 235/75/15s $620
Kumho Tire USA, Inc.

2” alum wheel spacers on all four corners. $100

Did this rig pass emissions testing? I live in NJ and am curious if this would pass inspection here. How is it on the highway?

Thanks!

Marc

It just passed NYC sniffer on the Dyno (annual inspection) and safety inspection back in late April early May with no problem.
The only issue might be for next inspection (or NJ inspection) is I have not yet found a suitable rear back up light (the white one) since I have replace the stock bumper with an aftermarket one after the inspection. But I am just being picky about the light I want, so it is actually an easy fix. Next year here in NY, we only have a safety inspection NO MORE emission on older non OBDII vehicles.

Highway, my average speed is 50-60mph, with some 65mph but in short burst. I try to stay in the 3200-3800 rpm range. When doing 65mph your over the 4000 rpm.

I recently drove from Monticello NY (rt17) to the Upper Bronx/Yonkers and got 25.7 MPG. And I was moving.

This is usually the first question I get when folks come to look at it.
The way the Sammy is currently set up it is definitely NOT built for a daily commuter. It is NOT a Yaris. It's running pretty street friendly mud terrains.

I can offer a second set of road friendly tires that I bought new for my 1998 Tracker and has @8k. in a 205/75/15 (Cooper) with the same rims that are on the Sammy now (but unpaint).
5 rims and tires for a few dollars more, since I plan to strip the Tracker for the motor and everything else.

WOW I cannot believe it's been sometime now.
I have build the crap out of this rig.
I have swapped in a 16v motor, Re geared the T case to 6.5/1 with Trail Though Twisted TT mod (twin stick style). Installed missing link with YJ's in the front. Brand new Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks on all four corners. Had the rear diff with ARB rebuild with all new seals and bearing and new ARB air seal done by Chase at East Coast Gears. Installed a brand new ARB air compressor. Installed some Recaro seats. Install a brand new Shrockwork bumper with a brand new Superwinch LP8500 winch...a ton more of stuff. And yet still haven't had the chance to wheel it.

Flexing out the Sammy for Shock measurements.

Thanx

Forgot to mention. Stock gearing in the diffs, the 6.5/1 t case gears works fine with the 33"s.
I also installed a t-case parking brake from an earlier SJ410 with a brand new parking brake line (cost me (WOW) $80 for the new cable from the dealer).
There is a ton more crap I am forgetting.

Serious offers will be considered.
Rig is located in NYC.
