With Travis moving and my work schedule, new leadership is needed for CLC. For the next year, I'm working in Denver and Fort Collins most weeks and cannot get to our monthly meetings on a regular basis.

Thanks for posting this up Doug. Looks like August will be an election meeting.

According to the bylaws, there are two ways the club can resolve the leadership issues:

1) Doug, as VP, acts as President (through elections at the Annual Meeting, which is the first meeting of calendar year) and the BOD (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and TLCA Delegate) appoints an interim VP to serve through elections at the Annual Meeting.
--[Article VII, Section C; Article VIII, Section C]

2) The BOD directs, or 1/3 of the Members request, a Special Meeting for the purpose of electing a new President and new VP.
--[Article IV, Section 3-Special Meetings]
Option 1 would be easiest, in my opinion; even if Doug were unable to attend all/most monthly meetings remaining this calendar year, whomever the BOD appoints to VP can preside those meetings.

Option 1 enables all Members more time to 'consider' running for office at the Annual Meeting.

The biggest advantage to Option 2 is that the BOD is established and can set their agenda sooner than January (assuming January would be the first meeting of the calendar year and 'normal' elections would take place then).

I think Tracey has just demonstrated his leadership abilities and commitment to the club.

I therefore nominate Tracey for El Presidente !!

I'm ok with either option. I would do my best to attend meetings but will likely miss some. If we can get a temp VP in place they could cover the meetings I'm unable to attend.

Are we having a meeting this month acting El Presidente ?

Ok, at the meeting Tuesday we opted not to vote on club officers until a later date. It didn't seem like a good time without some more of the longstanding members present. We were guessing from the course of the conversation here that I was named Interim President until a vote could be cast. When it does come time for a vote I would like to put my name into the hat for office whether its president or another office.
