I started looking into security alarms for the HDJ81 a few days ago, and came across a Clarion SR1000 alarm with remote start and turbo timer.
I don't have a turbo timer yet and thought that this might be a good solution. Does anyone have any expereince or advice about this or similar combination units in a diesel Cruiser?
I'm really warming up to the idea of the remote start too.
But to be effective, I'd have to set the hand throttle before shutting down (I usually set it at about 900 RPM according to the factory tach while warming up - how accurate are they anyways?) Would running the Cruiser at this slightly higher RPM affect the turbo timer function?
Unlike dedicated turbo timers, the stay-on duration is programmed by the installer and is not changeable by the driver. I'm thinking that 3 minutes would be a reasonable duration; what do you suggest?
Thanks, -Steve
