Citrus 4-23 ride

Will be going to Citrus on Saturday 23rd if anyone wants to join. Never been but have a co worker with a 4runner and jeep may be going.

Got some new shoes I need to try out.

Citrus is fun, but I'd also recommend doing Red Rock too to make it a full day.

Never heard of Red Rock. Where is it? Google map?

It's one of those "side-of-the-road" spots. I'll ask FJC Scott for the GPS coordinates and post them.

There are a lot of steep climbs and often people on dirtbikes/ATV's so be careful and have someone at the top, there have been issue of people driving head-on into each other in the past.

Since i never been to Citrus. Is there an address? Anything else to do around there?

Citrus is the Withlacoochiee State Forest, the trails there are just the trails to get from campsite to campsite. Figure a group of 2-3 rigs there's probably two hours of trail time there, not including recoveries, it has been wet and the clay and sand gets bad.

I was thinking 9-10 arrival. I ordered a snatch strap and I already have a shackle but I don't think I'll have a receiver shackle in time. Do you have a winch or recovery gear?

Just a shackle on the rear crossmember and a strap. If your dumb enough to get bad stuck in citrus you worked hard to do it

Had a good time. Went lone wolf with kids, wife and cousins kid. Was able to pick a good line in a mud hole and not get stuck. Did some trail exploring and even found a cave. Will be going back for sure.

I like citrus for the fact the trails were clearly marked and often free of other traffic...plus not too far from hard rock if you wanna go a lil wild

We got there late and didnt know too much about the area so just did a few things. I would like to go back though, its close and nice place to visit.
