Patti & I heading up Fri morning, any laggers left to convoy with us?

So no pics or trip report...other than the ticks update?

Churn Creek Protected Area was lush, green, and beautiful as ever. The air was clean and offered a strong smell of sage. Unfortunately the old camping area is now fenced off and not accessible for vehicles. The other camping area north of the creek is still available and still offers several multi-vehicle campsites although there is no out house. We had a good turnout including Pinstripe Liz, Pete & Patti, Gary B & Nicole, Bill, Axel R & his friend who didn't stay long, plus Andrew, and a new family with Jennifer and partner Neeko (BJ78 Troopee) and son Jonathan. Pete took several of the group up toward Black Dome, as well as the infamous creek where Chris H rolled his BJ40 a few years ago. The weather started off sunny and warm, but deteriorated Sunday and most of us left Monday after a soggy rainy night. The full moon was clear on Thursday & Friday nights although it got windy and the tarps were blowing around quite a bit. The canyon roads going out were slippery on the switchbacks and my rig was pretty muddy by the time I got back to pavement. All in all, the trip was good although Sunday's weather dampened activities. Traffic overall was light on the highways and there was a lot of cop activity in Pemberton Monday afternoon. I sailed right through Britannia without stopping and the only tie ups were on the upper levels in West Van due to some bad accident that tied up traffic from Lonsdale back

Thanks Bill!

Here are a few photos from our Churn Creek run. Had a fabulous time! Thanks to everyone for teaching me how to off-road! Loved every second. Favourite parts of the trip: clearing blowdowns from the road, Pete riding with me to get me past a sloped area, Garry getting stuck in the snow, seeing bighorn sheep, smelling the Fir trees while driving, seeing the full moon on the Fraser from my cozy FJ bed before falling asleep, and coffee and bacon with Bill in the mornings! And of course getting to know the great Cruiser gang around the campfire. An unforgettable trip!
