Hood struts gave out on me yesterday while checking the oil. No worries, cruiser outfitters has it in stock. Also got the rear gate struts because why not.

Help narrowing down origin of fuel smell. I have read the threads on here and have checked all over for signs of wetness. Smell seems to be coming from driver side engine bay. My vapor canister is old but I have verified the check valve works per the 43psi prescribed in the FSM. Hoses under the hood are all dry and the fuel lines look good all the way back to what i can see on the tank. I thought it could also be injector seals but the engine runs as smooth as anyone could hope for. The fumes are very strong right after turning the engine off and dissipate after about 30 minutes.

Any other thoughts?

Vapor canister and soft lines will be replaced as a place to start.

Also replacing the fuel filter and new banjo bolts/copper seals. I do believe that is the actual source of my leak based on wetness visible on the block to upper intake support bracket which is under the forward most fuel filter connection.

Retired in the garage until parts arrive.

New vapor canister and fuel filter done and dusted. 2hr job. No more fuel smell. 🍻

What did you replace the charcoal filter with?

Ac Delco. I wanted the 3rd port on top to run to the original outlet port in the frame. The other aftermarket one just vents out the bottom (no port) and has a high failure rate which dumps its contents. I just need to get a line to run from the vent down to the frame.

Front extended lines are in. Way easier than the rear section with exception of the driver side upper connection. Every time I work near the oil pan I loose a slab of skin from a knuckle. That thing has some sharp edges. 3rd time loosing skin in that manner, maybe I have learned this time.

Probably not

Which sensor is this on the rear driver side of the transmission? I’m having a hard time finding it on partsouq. Mine seems to have a slow weep from here. I’m hoping there is an o-ring I can replace. It’s very slight and only appears after long trips. Not a huge deal but I’d like to remedy it.

Ebay. I just waited for a set that had good clean pictures. They work great with the solvefunction brackets. I didn’t worry with hooking up the illumination because I would never care to unhook the visor and slide it back in to make the connection for the light to work.
