I have completed all the body work and painting for the FJ40 project I am working on.

Painted 2010 FJ Dark Green. Going on my spring over FJ62 axles with a 3FE and SM465 (when i find one) and a 3-speed transfercase.

Very nice, Craig! Thought you wanted the paint to match your FJC? jk
3FE sounds like a nice improvement. Look forward to seeing the completed rig.

looks great, is this for you guys?

Yes, it is my truck (well my collection of parts at the moment)

Scratch it? Dad said I will have it fixed up so nice, I won't want to wheel it which is my intention!

It will be on the trail!

Nice color choice...looking good Craig.

Thanks! I found a transmission now and have it bolted in for a test fit. Anyone know if I need a rear mount on the transfercase?

Seems to me that it is a similar set up to the stock configuration.

Thoughts?

Thought about that...was wondering do I need it in a springover configuration....it isn't any different than the stock set up is it?

It bolts to the mounting pattern on the back of the t-case and can be placed anywhere with scab plates on the frame. You can even tack it pretty well so you can move it later on when you add a t-case doubler. I think the stock mount is just on the tranny? I ran the AA crossmember on the SOA pig, worked great and was stout.

Thanks Jeff, I was looking to hear what others have done....I will put it in....easier to put on now (I have one) than to do it later after I break something.....

Thanks!

Here is an update of what I have done at the moment.

The engine, trans, transfer, driveshafts all mounted. Transfercase rebuilt, rear axle almost done have to put the outer axle seals in and install my locker and run the brakelines.

Getting close to setting the body on the frame.
