I've never done the lower loop around to Tanque Verde falls. Anybody want to run that on Sunday 5/20?
I have no clue as to the condition of the loop, but we'll find out. That is as long as someone else sacks up to go wheeling with me. I'd rather not hit an unknown trail alone.
Don't let me wheel all by me onesy's!!

meet at the far east Tanque Verde rd Circle K 12177 East Tanque Verde
8:30a.m. departure
CB-7
Plan on at least 1/2 a day or so. Bring lunch and lots of water. And then bring some more water.
Lets Wheel!!!

I see you picked Sunday.

Last soccer game is Saturday.

If you promise to shower and use deodorant, I'll tag along.

One quick question, what is it with channel 7 on the CB? Try something new and different, don't be so boring and predictable.

:flipoff2:

I have a wedding to attend SAtuday night. ouchhh I will be hurting the next day.. I will try to make it but if the party is going good, I can't promise a thing.. just got my allpro bumper $400 can't beat that w/ a stick!!

Now i need a CB instead of my dorky mini walky talkys:lol: come on lucky number 7.

Remember to stay on top of that trash while you guys are out there.

You should try hitting a trail once in a while and help us pick up the garbage. :flipoff2:

I'm calling you out! Bring you arse down to Tucson Sunday and run with us! I'll even give you a garbage bag. :D

I'd love nothing more than to do that but with Baja looming on the horizon I need to get the break-in mileage on the 60 this weekend. I'l be a fuel burnin, errand runnin, in town drivin fool all weekend.

Once we get back from Mexico, I'll be ready to get a whole bunch more miles on that 60, and Tucson area trails are at the top of my list.

Oh... and I'll bring the bags Baggins.

I clean chiva once a week practically, Alvin my girl and myself came out w/ a few bags full last time..... arghhhh I'm starting to get really pissed about the trashing of the trails I wish there was more FS out there getting on peoples case.. I still have yet to see one on the trail and Chimney rock is still being illegally romped upon, no signs despite GoodTimes actions!!!

You have no issues on that lower loop Alvin. The old bad and off-camber decent to the wash has been fixed up. Once there there's only one rough spot. The climb out is fun....the trai lis scenic. Have fun!

Pics of the lower section are near the start here: http://shottscruisers.smugmug.com/gallery/1269233

Come along John! So far it's just Ross and I and maybe Jake (depending on the intensity of his hangover).

The forest service simply doesn't seem interested in doing anything about it. I have even offered to go put the signs up myself. It just isn't on their list of things to do. Apparently they would prefer to sit inside their air conditioned trucks and ignore all the illegal activity in the area (fully automatic weapons, people driving off the roads, people throwing trash around, people killing cattle, etc). I'm at a point where I don't even want to go out there anymore. They claim they don't have the manpower to do anything, yet they ignore people when they offer to volunteer their time to help the FS out.

*****A Slight Change In Time*****

8:30a.m. departure.

Since all the Toyota people are to scared to wheel in the heat, we're gonna run with some Jeep folks who are planning on meeting at Circle K at 8:30a.m. They were already planning on doing the same trail and said they would be happy to have Ross and I run with them (and Jake if he can get outta bed :D ).

I'm sick as a dawg :crybaby: so I will be cutting out of the wedding early... now I just need to feel better, I hope i can make it!!!!!!!! how many jeeps??

4 or 5 Jeeps.

Hope you feel better dude!

I was screaming last night @ the wedding kinda feeling better, but as the night wore on I realized I was screwed :( got even worse, so I slept as much as possible today, I hope you guys had fun I will not miss the next trip!!!! my new bumper is sweet check it out!!

We had a great time today. Ross and I ran with 4 Jeeps- Lonnie, Helen, Doug and George. They were all real classy people and I would be happy to wheel with them anytime. The lower loop is pretty cool, I will definitely do that more often. We didn't get any pics,m but there was a lot of cool flexing and boulder crawling. Lonnie, the trail leader, even towed a broke down chevy from the 3 feathers obstacle to the parking lot. Real nice guy! I wish I had my camera, we saw a banded lizard sitting on a rock. He was the most vibrant shade of blue. Incredible. We also saw a mountain lion heading up a ridge away from us, big one too. Great day!

Bman, I hauled out 2 grocery bags full of trash.

Jake, that bumper looks friggin awesome!!!! You were missed today, next time dude!

Lonnie and Helen are two of our best friends.

A mountain Lion... no s***. How far away was it?

Good on ya, haulin trash. I've been thinking about a big burlap or some type of heavy cloth bag to attach to the back of the rig for haulin trash out. I always end up with 30 or 40 cans tumbling around in the back of the 40 after every trip. Not that I mind, but that clanking around gets on my nerves almost as much as the fact that I have to pick up after all the assholes out there.

X2 Alvin!!!

I had a great time and it is much more fun than the usual run to the falls. Lonnie and Helen are good people. I'll wheel with them anytime!
