Today on the way to work I got a check engine light and a trouble code of 25 (over lean mixture). Got home and checked the FSM for the code and got a plethora of different things to check, injectors, o2 sensors, air flow meter, ecu, and a few others. So I checked the air flow meter as per FSM and it checked out, then checked the o2 sensor as per FSM and ended up with zero volt fluctuations while doing the first check and 5volts between vf1(vf2) and e1 at which point the FSM says "Repair (over lean) WTF does that mean?

This code popped up after I experienced the roudle idle and stalling in reverse over the weekend and mentioned in previous posts. I'm thinking that this could be be the culprit and not the tranny, but I'm not ruling other wierdness out. Anyone ever get a 25 on the check engine light?

On a 3fe, the check engine light is linked to a diagnostic terminal under the hood, you use a jumper wire between 2 terminals TE1 and E1 to "short the system" and then the check engine light blinks a kind of morse code telling you the problem if you have a FSM or my little owners manual that came from toyota has quite a few of these codes in the back. It really is a great system for where to look when something is acting funny, makes you wonder about all those people driving around with tape over their check engine light.

thanks for the advice i have always wondered how this works for people without the system to figure this out..

HIJACK over.

Thanks to Euclid I believe this is what a code 25 looks like, time to buy some black duct tape
