My new to me GX460 came with only one fob.

I was quoted nearly $500 for one with programming by the dealer.

What are you guys doing for inexpensive replacement key fobs?

Inexpensive? No such thing. Carandtruckremotes.com for the fob and Techstream for the programming. Don't quite trust EBay fobs. Talked Lexus dealer into cutting physical key for free. Good luck, most charge ~$50 to cut. I think I paid about $170 for the fob.

My dealer quoted me $300 OTD, fob, programming, and physical key cut. Local locksmith about $275. Had used website above for a Ford fob that required locksmith programming. They sell OEM fobs. Amazon/Ebay seem to be a crapshoot. Hardware stores and AutoZone don't typically have ones for the Lexus that work. For as expensive as they are, I'm blown away by how many people "lose" them. Techstream programming was fast, easy, and successful first time.

It may help. Albeit, I did purchase my keyfob from a dealer, I did my own programing.
But the nice thing about the Techstream software is that not only can you program your key's you can also do so many other things such as read codes, trouble shoot, change settings, etc.
So although you'll have to purchase Techstream, down the road you may be glad you have it.

Has anyone DIY'd with Techstream? I watched a video about how to set it up, lots of knockoffs out there on Amazon. I'd like to get rid of my seat belt chime, also.

I did it with Techstream. Bought the fob online (can't remember where), programmed it with Techstream - was actually very easy.

Ace Hardware cut the physical key for me and it works great.

I got a new one including the cut and paring at a popalock in hotsprings AR for a little over $200.

I tried ordering a replacment online but the fob was not wiped for programming. kept failing at step place in passanger seat.

I just picked up a spare key a couple weeks ago for $190 from a local mobile locksmith. Had it cut and programmed in the back of his car in less than 5 minutes.

I bought a used key fob for $100 with virgin keyword off Ebay and programmed it with techstream. Didn't even bother with cutting the key blade because I have two. I just need a expendable key fob i can toss around.
