I am building an outback trailer from an M100 millitary trailer to trail behind my 60, 80 and/or 4runner and I am short on electrical skills. I am planning to mount a 12 volt battery in the trailer so i can have running water, lights to cook by and all things electric. Does anyone have any knowledge and/or ideas on how to get the battery charged from the truck? Any advise greatly appreciated.

Simple answer - the battery simply needs to see power from the truck's electrical system while the truck is running. The wire feeding the power should be of decent size, and should have an automatic or manual disconnect from the rest of the system when the truck is not running.
