I recently had a CEL plus VSC TRAC and VSC OFF dash lights diagnosed by the dealer as a defective valve at the charcoal canister. Unfortunately, that valve for the 2003+ Hundys (I have a 2005) can only be purchased as part of the canister (confirmed with Beno), while it was available separately on earlier models.

Rather than the almost $600 for the dealer to replace it, I bought the part for $299 and I'm ready to try to replace it myself. Has anyone done this and is it as simple as removing and replacing everything back in the right place, or is there any special procedure?

The FSM evap chapter goes into a lot of detail on the testing procedures but has zero on the replacement of the canister itself.

Thanks for anyone's help.

I would suggest taking a bunch of pictures first before you start unplugging everything. Might save a few strands of hair on your head in the long run! You may be the FIRST, so good luck and let us know what were in for...
Mines a 2002, by the way, but still looks pretty complicated and confusing.

Run a search for charcoal canister here on MUD. I didn't see any details on replacement, but there are links within posts that may give you some hints on what to do. Post the details of what you do, with pics. Others will be very interested.

I replace mine after install aux tank - got a used one like you. i took pics and labels all the lines coming in/out - had no issues installing and getting it to solve the CEL. It took maybe 10-16 minutes, and didn't test anything.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it goes and will try to post pics.

Yeah, so that was easy. 3 bolts, 1 electrical connector, and 4 hoses. You would have to be a six pack deep to have a chance of screwing it up. Access is perfect once the spare is out.
