Hey everyone,
I am going to swap out the rad and thermostat in my 87 60. I know that it is very important to get the gaskets correct, or you will have no heat. At the parts store the gave me 1 o - ring and 1 paper gasket is that all I need. There is another o-ring in the box with the new thermostat, so now I have two.. So what is the correct way to do the therm? Also is it ok that I got an aftermarket therm in place of an OEM Toyota part?

Thank you,
Zack

There should be a rubbery 'ring' , not an o-ring...imagine a rubber band on it's side. This goes above the t-stat in the housing ( when you remove the old t-stat, you'll see what I, talking about)

The 'paper' gasket goes between the upper housing & lower housing.

thant's all there is to it....

Recommend ya 'anti-sieze' (apply sparingly) the bolts for the housing....
