Can the oil pan handle the weight of the motor while swapping out the bell housing?
Plan on using a jackstand under the oil pan skid plate, bad idea?

I use a 4x4 piece of wood to spread the load out across the bottom of the oil pan when I need to perform this task, or, even better, support the engine from above with a cherry picker/hoist.

No overhead, went with a 2x10 and a jack stand.

i used an engine hoist and just held the engine up. but also had the engine sitting for 4 months on the ground on the oil pan. i would distribute the load tho with a 2x4 or something like was suggested.

Use 2 2x10's or a thick piece of ply, as a single 2x10 may break
Ask me how I know
