My only complaint one these trucks is the cheap plastic that Toyota uses for the door handles, around the window switches and around the gear shifter.

The one that bothers me the most is the plastic around the gear shifter. Can this easily be replaced? I'm taking about the grey plastic that also includes the P, R, D, etc and the grey piece that surrounds it.

Thanks guys!

Yea, it can be replaced but I seem to recall the thing was all one big piece simulated wood part and grey part. I had a local Body shop change one mine out for a new one. I want to say it was $300+ For parts and labor. Mostly parts cost. The simulated wood also wore off the gear shift knob so I had that changed that too. I think i can look it up for you Monday if you want a more exact figure on the parts.

I wife destroyed the gear shift knob and steering wheel with her diamond rings. Happens with all the cars she drives.

At least it's not a LC specific inadequacy -- time for a carbide shift knob upgrade.

I like that idea!!!!
What to do with the steering wheel? I might have all the trim painted gloss black since she doesn't drive it anymore.

1) Diamond ring (expense) - vehicle interior damaged (expense/loss of value) [happy wife]

2) No diamond (money saved) - vehicle interior undamaged (better re-sale/value) [unhappy wife]

:meh: you lose both ways....

Ahhh, that's why I've never mentioned it to her!!

When I say destroyed its no worse than any other ones I've seen but I know I didn't do it.
