Hey all, this is my first tech post, so bare with me.
Getting in and out of the Cruiser, I regularly knock the CDL switch. I’m currently making an overhead switch panel in the sunnies holder. So, I took the opportunity relocate the CDL switch up there.
Working out what wires are needed and doing some testing.
You’ll have to excuse the green tape everywhere, just keeping track of things.
Got the loom poking through now. In the switch panel I’m putting spotties, roof Lightbar, CDL, compressor, winch isolation and winch in and out.
This is looking at the back of the plug. Since most of us use rocker/Carling switches, I’ll give you the pinout for that.
We’re only looking at the 3 cut wires that are pulled upwards here.
So, the top left one we connect to pin #3 on the Carling switch - CDL off.
Top right we connect to #2 on the Carling switch - earth in
And the bottom wire we connect to pin #8 - CDL engaged.
Here’s a video showing it working.
New CDL switch in action
Cheers!
