my CDL isnt working on my 92 lc just wandering if ya'll could tell me some things to check. already looked for a fuse couldnt find one for the CDL so the button its self?? thanks for any input

That hurts my eyes to read. How about some caps and a couple periods here and there, eh? Heh.

How about some actual information as the sum total you've provided is "isnt working".

ok well the CDL light on the dash doesnt come on and as far as i can tell it isnt locked

Are you doing this with the truck sitting parked in a parking lot? Sometimes it take a bit of movement before mine locks up. As much as 10 feet on the trail sometimes.

When was the last time it worked? How many miles on the truck?

i actually had to turn my truck off and back on to get mine to turn off. But it's always turned on, just took about 10 or so feet of movement as Doc pointed out.

Aargh, now mines not working either, nothin'. Of course I never tested it after the 7-pin mod  How 'bout you guys all trouble shoot if for me :D

Scott,

Did you slide under and put the switch plug back on the center diffy?

DougM

Yeah, maybe it's not on all the way, or maybe I got the wrong pin. I'll check after I figure out why my riding mower caught fire tonight  After I put it out it worked ok for the rest of the yard :D

I've already spotted your problem. You did the 7-pin mod. You should have done the pin-7 mod.

Double check that you disconnected the proper wire and that the connector is properly installed on the diff lock relay box.

Scott,

I had to practically shove my face under the dash to figure out I was about to pull the wrong wire. It turned out to be the skinnier one that was more easy to get to. I counted from each end top and bottom and found the 7th wire on only one of these 4 possibilities matched the wire color described on Slee Offroad's page. There was a fatter wire with the same base color that coincided with the 7th wire when counted in another direction. That was the ejection seat disable when under a hard surface........

The wiring manual shows you which side of the connector to look at in order to determine which is pin 7.

Ok, I replaced the blue/black wire, what a PITA it is to get those connectors back in! Pulled the correct wire, double checked the connectors on the t-case. Still no-go, just a click from the cdl relay when I press the cdl switch, and no binding feel when driving. The cdl switch worked flawlessly berore the pin-7 mod, what'd I do wrong? Could having that wrong wire unhooked have done something? The wiring diagram looks simple enough, I don't see how that could've hurt it. I really don't want to replace that pin-7 wire, what a bugger that connector is. I've only (knowingly) touched two things: the cdl relay connector and the connector on the t-case. If the t-case connector isn't making contact, what will be the symptoms with pin-7 unhooked?

did you put the required aluminum foil beanie cap on when you pushed the CDL switch?
eh?
geez...

I find it strangely comforting that my airline Captain has issues of this particular type to diagnose....
