I was out trying to climb a steep hill today. Failed in 2 attempts and gave up and drove around.

Funny thing, the CDL lights wouldn't light up but the lockers appeared to engage. At least, the LC acted properly. Now I'm home and was trying to move the car, but now the CDL light is on and the lockers are engaged and refusing to disengage.

I've decided to have another go at it in the morning, but in the meantime, if anybody has a solution, please advise.

I started a thread a while back on how to unlock locked lockers. May be useful?

I wasn't able to find the thread about lockers. I did notice your question about getting a rusty ridge at the outer edge of your brake pads. I got the same thing and I can't stop getting it though you probably can.

The ridge is made because the brake pads are too large for the rotors. If you use them long enough the ridge begins to eat at the edge of your rotor producing a shiny bright line. This happens to me because my old cruiser had smaller rotors than current cruisers. I can't get smaller pads because they are no longer available for my 1990 cruiser. You can probably get the right sized pads.

My only remedy is to grind away the ridge and angle in a bit thereby reducing the pad, to buy more time before the next grinding. It's working for me.

I was able to unlock the lockers by driving the car forwards and back. Didn't need more than that. Now I suppose I better find my favorite car electrician to track down and clean up the contacts of my CDL so it doesn't happen again.

Maclean216 and e9999, thanks much for your help.
