So i was thinking of geting 2in extended shackels to go allong with my 2in suspension lift and was wondering how hard it it to put new castor plates in and how do you do it?

What i mean is what exactly are castor plates and are they really needed for 2in extended shackels

You can get a lift that will give you very close to 3 inches which is what you are going to get with a 2in lift and 2 inch shackle lift.

The caster plates(I think the EPC calls them caster shims) corrects the caster angle by sitting between the steering arm and steering knuckle.
Some owners go 3-4 inches and dont need them. My 73 series was fine for 3 years and then one day got the death wobble.
So ,do the lift and see what happens, but I think you will need them;)

ah cool can someone post a pic of there castor plates for me to see?

If you can log onto toyodiy ,you can see in the parts diagram where they sit.
Basically they are spacers

Check out my BJ74 build thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/286801-canadian-build-jdm-bj74.html. In post #3 their is pictures of the shims and extended spring perch centering pins required to accommodate the shims. Their is also more specific discussion on caster in post #12.

I highly recommend you install the shims with that much lift and especially with extended shackles as the length directly affects the caster angle. A few degrees of change in caster angle can make a huge difference in hadling
