Im rebuilding both cv joints for my 40 they are out of 83 mini has anybody used the precision bearing kit ,i heard they were not that good. Its all I can get locally, and dont want to do it again soon. Thanks Greg.

From going through this myself a while back, there are but very few options for these parts. If that's all you can get then what other options do you really have?

Yur right ive put it together with the precision kit ,It looks beefy enough its just the local cruiser buffs say they break like butter,However i wont be puting my rig through the same S*** they do .Just wanted to know if i had to get spares(really pricey)

They get there stuff from NAPA its quit out of the way and i get a discount where i shop was just curious as i would go the extra mile if Precision was no good

what brand are these 'local cruiser experts' getting at Napa that is suppoosed to be so superior to Precision?

In my experience, Precision u-joints are really poor quality - they break if you even look at them the wrong way.

Get the factory joints or Spicer joints.

I am still very pleased with my Precision / Federal Mogul CV and U joint parts I installed. They were Made in USA and looked to be of good quality compared with Made in China Neapco joints I had got. I have one year of wheeling on my rebuilt CV driveshaft and it is holding up great. I am not sure what "better quality" parts they offer at Napa Canada but if you look at my post my Napa provided me Precision / Federal Mogul parts which I found cheaper at RockAuto later.
