don't think I paid more than $20 when I bought it years ago(before amazon), I don't have a ton of snap on stuff.....but what I have has served me well for over 2 decades. My young buddy(and fj40 owner) is a mechanic, works with his dad, I won't let the Snap On guy near him(or the shop)......I know what can happen when they get you on the hook ;) (the local snap on guy always did have good deals on used guns because of this)

As stated, a 12mm Distributor Wrench works very well. I also bent mine about 40 degrees, in the middle, to clear the Air Injection tube. Really helps get at those two valve-cover side bolts.

Don't need to get a snap on ($$$) just find a generic one... They're on ebay, amazone, etc. Box end (12 pt) is best.

Harbor Freight stubby 12 mm what I used and it work good pre-soak the bolts with a good rust penetrant at least a day or two prior and then give it a shot

Yeah, I hear you -- I have a lot of snap-on stuff, thousands worth, and they're all my favorite tools, but I bought them on sale, ebay, used, etc. Only bought a couple off the truck or from the online store -- Just saying these days snap on gets a premium, even more than a few years ago, because they don't have the good, cheap Craftsman USA competition anymore. Besides, if you're gonna heat and bend, buy cheap. JMHO....

I love taking tools and modifying them. Nothing more satisfying then saving money on a cheap tool to make it into a special tool for those rare cases of needing something that works.

order some aeroKroil online, you will get a lot more bolts off without problems. get some of the graphite too, for reassembly. It cant be beat.

But be aware, all their spray cans will fail, so buy small ones, and buy the tin of aerokroil, and an old school oiler can.

I have had best luck with T&E. Excellent quality and finish (on the stuff they actually make), and great pricing.
