Did all 77 FJ 40 come factory equipped with a insulator between the base of the carb and the intake? Looking at SOR diagram, there's a base gasket sitting on top of the insulator that's only available thru Toyota if you purchase the insulator $100.00 plus (includes insulatorand gasket). Then there's a plenum gasket that sits under the insulator. It looks like both gaskets are available individually from SOR. I assume that the insulator is for reducing vapor lock. Does everybody use this insulator and gasket set up?

Carb Base Gasket Search - 2f

Found this old thread with no replies...I need a few of these also and wondering if anyone was able to find them locally, say for a different application. SOR has them but just trying to complete a job for now.
The one I need is Number 91 in the picture.
Thanks
Ray

At least two have come with every carb kit I've ordered. Would be simple to make, too.

I will have a fresh batch of 50 in stock tomorrow.;)

thanks

Appreciate the replies...I went ahead and picked up a piece of gasket material and went to work with an x-acto knife and a punch.
Have a great weekend!
