Used the search function to death, and didn't reeally find what I was looking for.
The carb on my 2F is the original '84 Aisin carb. Here recently...like this last week, it all of a sudden didn't want to idle. Well...Sometimes it will, but for the most part as I coast to a stop, the engine tries to die. I can keep it running, by tapping occasionally on the gas pedal, but need to get this fixed.
Has anyone had this problem, that was a sudden problem, not a gradual one? Am I looking at a rebuild? I thought at first it might be a vacuum problem, so when I opened the hood, I could hear a slight leak around the large vacuum line to the brake booster. I tightened the hose clamp, and that fixed that. I couldn't find my vacuum gauge, but when I placed the end of my thumb over the vacuum line while it was running, it nearly put a hicky on my thumb, so I doubt its a vacuum problem. Any ideas? Thought that maybe some sort of blockage on the idle mixture screw is causing it, and haven't ruled that out yet.

Keep looking for a vacuum leak as it would make more sense to suddenly spring a leak. There are a lot of possible leak sources. EGR stuck on? Is the idle fuel solenoid working?

I think the idle fuel solenoid is working, however, I have noticed it tends to "diesel", now that you mention that.

I'll look into that....I was looking to the wrong place. Gotta love MUD. Always good advice. If you are the same Jim, that does carb work, if I can't get it fixed easily, I may just have it sent to you anyway.
