After reinstalling my manifolds and carb on a stock 76 FJ40 it won't idle. I havfe notice when I plug in #3 on the emissions computer which is hooked up to the intake mainifold it closes the TP valve and causes it to stall out. I'm not sure if I installed something wrong, but it seems like the vacuum from the line to the TP valve is shutting it off. Please help.

The VSV is supposed to apply vacuum to the throttle positioner at speeds below 15 MPH so that it will idle at 650 instead of high idle. This is normal operation.

Try adusting the idle speed and mixture. If it idled fine before you fooled witht he manifolds, suspect a vacuum leak.

Like Pin_Head said, in all likelihood it's a simple adjustment. My guess would be that your vacuum lines weren't applying ANY vacuum before, and now that the TP is actually doing what it's supposed to do, it's throwing you off.

Best
