My hdj81 with the 1hd-t diesel motor has been giving me trouble lately. It first started with a weird noise sometimes when i try and start it. It would start up but sounded weird almost like the car didnt wanna turn over. Then today as im slowing my car started stalled out. Happened 3 times. I live in america so the diesel quality is not the same as japan. Belts have been replaced but i think maybe something with fuel or maybe alternator?

Hdj81 does not rely on the alternator at all to run.
Once you've started it, the engine itself does not use any electricity.
It sounds like you may have an issue with getting air into the fuel lines.
is it running normally while driving?
Does it blow any more smoke than normal?
Does it stumble or run rough when you accelerate?

Sorry you live in a 3rd world country, but as long as you are buying fuel from a service station with a lot of turn over, and not some two bit corner store in the sticks, fuel quality shouldn't be an issue.

Only issue is that it stalls when i slow down, but when its driving it runs fine.
