I'll be coming down 91 south (thru Hartford) where is the Stop & Shop? Wherever we meet just shoot out some quick directions... this'll be cool.

Stop & Shop will work: 416 East Main Street

91 to 9 South, past the lights, get in the right lane to Exit 13 to Main Street Extension (as if you were going to the hospital) but then turn left. :banana:

Sounds good to me...

Dayum. This summer is no fun so far. :frown: I'm out.

So... Stop and Shop at 5:00 Tuesday.

I'm in.

Wo else?

OT- I took the Blizzard to a car show tonight which is every Saturday night here in my town about 1/2 mile away. I go there almost every week cuz it's fun to talk to the old guys about cars.

Anyways, I pull in the lot with the Blizzard. It's a regular parking lot at a gym in my town, no corrals, no lineups, no judging, just a cruise night. Some grumpy old man with a 57 chevy (classic but standard IMO) waves me over to the visitor lot. He doesn't work there or anything he just happens to be the first car in the first row. He's waving me over and I blow right past him and park next to a 64 corvette and an old rat rod.

What I'm getting at is the old school guys feel that anything that isn't from the do-wop era isn't worthy of sharing a parking lot. Car shows will die eventually if views and perceptions don't change. These guys complain that they don't get the turnout that they used to and they wonder why.

Rant done.

I know just what your talking about Jsaltlick ...they want to buddy buddy with their hot rod chums.

i used to hang with a crowd of friends that all had 60's era muscle cars...we all went to cars shows...i was the odd ball with the 1973 Triumph spitfire decket out race ready...if i werent with them i wouldnt have been let in 1/2 the time....grumpy old men....back then and now :) they are all the same ...grumpy old men :)

we have some here in MUD LOL :)

Yeah this show seems a bit different. I have gone the last 3/4years, (not with a vehicle but to spectate). Anyways, there seems to be a fair amount of just odd ball stuff there. Cool vehicles in one way or another. So when I looked up info on the show, I saw they have a category for "special interest" I figured they meant stuff that was not the "Do-wop", as you put it.

The organizer guy was really cool on the phone, I dont think he had a clue as to what a 40 is. But, when I told him the age...77', he said that was a "go". And then I told him it has antique plates and he seemed more enthused.

Coolest thing I saw at the show last year was a firetruck from the early 1900's. It drove too. Big huge sucker that was all original and in not so perfect shape but awesome to look at. I think the biggest leaf spring stack I have ever seen. Had to be over a foot of leaves.

Work sucks.

Bummer guys.
I can't go tomorrow... just found out I need to be in MD for the day... I will be flying right over you at about 7:00 pm...

Work sucks.:mad::mad::mad:

Whoever is interested- there are a couple of us getting together next Monday for the Marks Auto parts show in East Granby- it's right off of 91 (near Bradley Airport)... we are meeting at Dunkin' Donuts right at the corner of 20 and 187 at 5:00 pm.

Hope you guys can make that one- was really looking forward to meeting up with you all.

Work sucks.:mad::mad::mad:

like I said, I will be there...
Just not able to meet prior.

jeez i'm going but i don't have a cruiser... i'll drive someone's cruiser who isn't going.... :hhmm:

so am I meeting anybody at 5 at stop and shop or no?

No worries Chris. It will only take one 40 to show the Jeepers what a real truck looks like, between us we can give them two examples. :cheers:

A couple 40's...
