Middletown CT, Tuesday June 17th, main street and the green. In the evening...

So last year I went to this car show and there was a bunch of awesome muscle cars and some other cool stuff. There was about 6 jeeps, a couple were older army rigs, a couple street machines and a couple wheelers. Also a Bronco 2 built for wheeling.

So around that time last year I started dreaming about bringing the 40 to the show the next year. Well, little by little I got it fixed up and now it is respectable enough to go show it off. Not a show rig, but everytime I go out some one comes up and says how cool it is, of course they have to go into the story of how their buddy/brother/themselves, used to have one etc. etc.

But anyway, throughout the rediculous amount of hours I spent fixing it up, I kept thinking about the show and how it would be cool to go and show off a Toyota there. Have not ever seen a 40, or any other Toyotas there for the several years I went to check it out.

Bring your rig.... They only ask for a donation to get some money back for insurance, etc. I asked how much people usually give and he said anywhere from $5-20.

Info at the top of this page:
Downtown Middletown, Connecticut is home to Special Events, Entertainment, Dining and Shopping throughout the year.

I called the number on the page for Mark and he was really nice. I think you have to get an OK from him, prior to arrival.

Cool. I won't know if I'm travelling that day until about a week before- if not, I'll be there with the rig and the new paint job that I'm sure the critics will eat up as a 'not to do' example!!!

I'm thinking about bringing my 40 if so we'll have to have a cruiser section.

May as well do one of these before I get it all dirty and pinstriped. :D
I should have insurance and a temp plate by then. Sam, form up at your place and roll in as a group?:hhmm:

I've brought my old 55 to the car show down the street and everyone loved it that knew what it was. There are always the camaro/mustang people that won't care or give it a second look but there are always a bunch of people that ask and are truly interested. Car shows are fun.

Definitely...But again, I think you all should call the guy putting it on, Mark (860-685-3804), I am not sure but I think you are subposed to confirm with him and he puts you on a list.

Sounds cool to me, but I have practically no parking...How about if we met on longlane by the end at the wadsworth street intersection. That is where the Wesleyan farm/garden is. There is a good sized parking lot so we could group & then go.

and I might have my 25 back by then too. Scheduling conflicts suck. I was all ready to get it this weekend but Chris wasnt around and Im on my way to Vegas for a week.
Mike, your rig would put it over the top...
don't really have a 40 to bring yet.. hopefully next year. but I'll definitely be there
Ant, look forward to meeting you finally.

I dont either , but I can bring one of my 4runners . What time does it start ? I usually work until 5:30 .
I think it is around 6, but you don't have to be on time...

I tried calling haven't got a call back yet. It might be better to meet up down by middlesex hospital because the registration map says registration begins at the ymca end of main.

Wherever is fine with me...I was just thinking of a place where we have a parking lot. Hospital is kinda hectic with traffic and no parking. We have plenty of time to decide on a place...

I just left Mark a message, waiting for a call back but it looks like I'll be going- no travel plans for work that week :D.

I insured up with Hagerty today, so I should be able to bring the new 25. Just pick a meeting spot, any excuse to leave work early. :bounce:

How about stop&shop parking lot? It's 2 sec from registration and wont have to deal with the traffic on washington and the college?
Just my 2 cents
how sweet will it be maybe 5 or so 40's and a runner all showing up at the same time. It will be the pig section.
