Wow, great improvement. Any plans to modify the rack so it will fit over the new top?

yes,my friend will made a new rack support, can't use the one on the vinyl top. i bring him the way that i want it with side tubes also to protect the paki when the side windows are rolled up. i got the idea from this picture but i dont like the lights-siren just the side tubes-windshield design..

Please post up when you get get the rack, I like the idea of protecting the top as I almost tore mine when I rubbed a tree wheeling last week, thanks

I ordered a paki top! needs minor repairs but I can't wait to get it. There are some for sale in the classified section for 450 apiece. I need to get some bows now. Mine will have protection around it also.

Looks Great! Plexus is the BOMB! I've used it to clean and restore faded windshields and Fairings on several BMW Airhead restorations. Your Cruiser looks Awesome with your new top!

Bsmith 123-thanks, the paki change the retro look..will see how the rack design fit over the paki..i have to admit that its a pleassure have an fj40, i need to finish my RHD.

The soft doors still have the oem plexiglass on it,all 4 pieces. For the moment i paint the aluminium skin( PO mod.) until i fix-paint the whole 40 and put the canvas on it...i know will never macth the faded color on the top but i just want to take out the heavy steels doors....

Anyone have a link to a thread that shows detailed views of the bow pieces? I remember there was a thread where someone started with hard top pieces and converted to soft top bows, but I can't find it.

I also ordered one of the tops from paktops, and I got some OEM bows for cheap locally, but the windshield-to-b-pillar bows are not the right ones. They're from a hard top. They need to be converted to accept the soft top.

Original OEM windows! I'm so jealous! Even though the doors don't exactly match the top they still look great!
I was comparing your before and after pics and it is incredible how the different tops really change the look of your cruiser.
I was wondering if you could post a couple of pictures of your wing windows on one of your doors, both inside and out so that I can see how the plexi glass is attached. My OEM soft doors unfortunately have neither the windows nor the stripping on the wing window frame. I have never seen how the wing windows were mounted into the frame before and I need to try to find a way to recreate that molding/stripping.
Any info or pics would be greatly appreciated!

I know you made a post on the soft doors,but how the ones that i have area not in optimal conditions or on how i do fix the rust,i posted here, notice the nice green oem color and the warn sticker...i dont know from what year the bows-doors came off, but the bows was green also from the same donor 40 that i never saw in person.
When the time came to fix my doors that just need to replace the have bottom where the rubber its attached i guess it not hard to replace it..and thanks for read here again..
