Can I fit HZJ75/78 rear bumper (Gobi-x) on HZJ74?

I would like to fit a Gobi-X rear bumper for HZJ75/78 to my 2001 HZJ74.

Are rear chassis width dimensions the same between the models?
Can I make this fit?

75-series trucks 1,090mm at the butt, and 73/74's are 1,220mm, according to the manual. I don't know if that means the mounting points at the rear for a bumper would be different, necessarily, since these measurements are measuring the body mount locations, not the ladder width.

I would suggest measuring your 74 and then emailing the Gobi-X guys to see what the mounting distance is.

Hi there, thanks for the help! Good idea to reach out to Gobi themselves. I have sent them an email.

I measured rear ladder width of my 74 and I get to 1035 mm.
I found a 75 series frame dimension drawing and there it seems that the 75series has rear ladder width of 1040 mm.
So according to this it should 'fit' with only 2,5mm play on both sides.

I will wait for a reply from Gobi and if all is good to go, I will order and mount this rear bar on the 74. I will share some photos in this thread!

Those are exactly the same go ahead , the only different rear bumpers on 7x models are on the 4 door wagons 76/77/78/79 as they have a curved rear frame section while others all have a straight rear crossmember

yes, I installed a 75 series rear kaymar bar on my 74. It's the same.

I love Toyota for making it easy for us to have parts interchange between different models. Smart decision.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I finished fitting the 75/78 series Gobi-X rear bar to my 74. We only had to cut off a flange so that the fits behind the leaf spring shackles. No need to drill extra holes in the chassis. The width of the rear end of the chassis is indeed the same as the 75/78 series.

The bar is mounted with 12 bolts so strong enough. I will add two more for extra peace of mind.
