I've searched through more than a few threads on this topic, but no one has ever provided a solid answer.

Can the Bilstein 24-014779 & 24-014786 (front and rear set) handle 2 inch lift springs?

Please don't suggest other brands of shocks or try to make recommendations outside the scope of the question- I want to find the answer regarding these particular shocks and finally put this one to bed.

The Bilsteins have a 1" shorter stroke compared to the OME 60018 which are typically sold with 2" lift kits.

Yes

Bilstein 24-014786 / 594mm / 365 mm front (extended/compressed)
Bilstein 24-014779 / 591mm / 380mm rear

OME

N74E (front) = 250 stroke
N73 (rear) = 260 stroke

Bilsteins

24-014786 (front) = 229 stroke
24-014779 (rear) = 211 stroke

This is the last information I got. Double check if you feel the need.

I've blown out three OME's over the years. Never one Bilstein.

You want serious. Get 5100's and adaptors. Any length you want.

Thank you!

Now that the original question has been answered, which 5100's do you recommend?

5100's are 5100's, they are stiff as a 17 year old virgin on prom night. Some don't like them cause of that. Just call Bilstein and tell them what you need length wise and they will give you the model nummber you need. Or Summit.

I'm warning you, they are stiff! It's like adding a heavier spring coil or leaf.

I run twins on my Excursion. It weighs like 7,400 pounds dry and I can do interstate ramps at 60 MPH and run over speed bumps like they don't exist.
