A friend gave me a 74 super beetle in god body shape and engine needs some TLC (Just like our older cruisers). SInce this forum has been the best towards building cruiers, maybe there is a good super beetle forum similiar. I have seen a few but they do not seem to have much action.

SInce I know nothing about the VW, I need to learn.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks guys. I finally got it to run andhold an idle. Now to get it tuned in. I am hocked at how much cheaper parts are for a VW compared to a FJ40

The stock carb has a funny way to adjust it. But, the sequence works great!!!

I seem to stall out and flood a bit at lower RPMS. Need to figure out how to adjust the carb for that. I still haven't figured out the sequence your talking about Mace. I'll search for answers.

I printed that out this morning. Thanks for the link.

closet VWer's. Cool

Who said we were in the closet ;)

I have on my rainbow head band and now wear it with pride! :) I also play that song "I'm too sexy for my Super Beetle, too sexy for my Su-per Be-e-tle by far . . . " every time I work on it.

It is totally on the opposite end of a Cruiser. Cruiser big, go grunt, I am king, grunt . . . and the Beetle is , can someone pass the joint type of car. I liek both in different ways. I can see that I need to be carful or this little thing will become an addiction like the FJ40.

lol

Sorry Jim,
we are building a Class 11 car. MINT 400 babY!!!!

Now that is a funny website. No classes at all? Just show up and drive?

Are entering a VW in the 24hrs of Detroitish, too?

We're #90, Focke-Ewe.:grinpimp:

Don't need no steenking classes!

It's a no-class event.

Actually, the race field will be divided into four classes at Tech Inspection: Class PW (Prayer of Winning), Class NPW (No Prayer of Winning), Class SPF (Slight Prayer of Finishing), and Class WFIMFY (Won't Finish in a Million Frickin' Years). Each Class Winner will receive a trophy, like that matters.

Just doing it for the fun of it is what it's all about.

Good Luck!
