I have no clue where to post this.... move it if need be. But i figured the expedition crowd would know better than anyone else...

http://www.oppositelock.com has some great products for carrying water (sucks OZ's have all the cool stuff!) and im interested in a few things.. but it's gonna be harder than heck to get anything here... since i dont see a US dist. anywhere.

Anyone know about getting their products over here?

Oh yeah and i don't think i'd want to go straight to them and have it shipped.. it just wouldn't be worth the shipping cost.

If within the size and weight restrictions (20kg), Australian AirMail and SeaMail are reasonably priced. I've ordered a couple of things before from Oz and was happily surprised with the postal rates.

For pricing, scroll down to page two. USA is zone C.

Which water carying products are you interested in? I'll probably be in at OL in the next week or 2, and I'd be happy to have a bit of a look at them for you (before you blow your hard-earned)

If you'll pay my fare!

Nah I can't do that anyways - I've never had a passport!

YOu can get a food grade poly tank made here(usa) to whatever dimensions probably cheaper..... check out expedition portal (i recall some people who had water tanks made).

Theres an RV place in/near Hollister that does custom spec tanks-forgot name.--but im sure you can find them down in Socal for pickup and save on shipping costs. Check out some of the Marine ones also on the web. locally in cali. West marine possibly has some in a variety of sizes. and pretty cheap.

Why do you want to put more weight higher up?

I'd be more interested in a setup like Radio Dave used to have on his 40. Tank underneath with a 12V electric pump and filler neck.

I second the concern about carrying water on a roof rack, I'd avoid it if possible, especially given the amount of weight you already carry on your INTI.

Opposite Lock makes these *sweet* flexible water tanks that fit inside the cargo area panels of the 60/80, that would be a much better system.

Yeah we already have the water up there anyways.. it would be just a matter of switching out the NATO to that container.

The cargo area panels won't work. I have stuff already in those areas. I would really like to get the water tanks that mount where your rocker panel is under your body, but they don't work with sliders.

wow- i was just checking out the Adventure duo site and saw the double wheel rack-loaded inti etc.........whats that setup weighing in these days?????

I think Slee has that flexi 2nd row footwell water blader still.

Arent youworried abou the water on the roof heating up in the sun? or would that water be used for showers-which might be agood thing.

Thanks for checking out the site.

Our setup is about 7500 lbs (all packed ready to go with passengers) :D That's almost 1,000 lbs over gross. yep heavy rig for sure.

I thought Christo sold that last one?

Naah, the NATO can never really gets that hot and it won't matter too much it's just used for washing hands/plates cleaning up etc.

Take a look at Metal Tech's 80 series sliders... they have provisions for air tanks inboard of the slider. Maybe you could build tanks into each side for water?

Heck, or do long air tanks and have floatation!

pilferred stuff from MT-

"The right side slider has an accessory mount built into it to capitalize on the large open cavity under the right side floor just outside of the frame rail. By using the optional accessory mount/skid plate you bolt the mount directly to your sliders and frame. The mount holds either a 2.5gl air tank or a spare Optima battery. The mounting plate is laser cut and formed out of ¼ inch plate and acts as a skid guard for what is mounted above it. All this is tucked up above the main body of the sliders. "

No worries, i dont need that much water. We have decided to get a adventure trailer to pull behind us with 19 gallons of drinking/cleaning/shower water. Problem solved! lol

Congrats on the AT!!!! Now your gross weight will go back to 5500? :D:doh::flipoff2:
