I have this friday and saturday for a quicky overnight trip with my 4 year old and some friends. we've done little elk and murdock basin but we're looking for something new. I don't know much about the northwest slope near coalville, anything cool up there worth seeing? the ideal place would be someplace near a fishing lake and big enough for at least 3 trucks. any help would be great.

Did you end up going? Where'd you go and how was it?

A few years ago I spent a couple days and did a trip across the northern slope from Flaming Gorge over to the Mirror Lake highway. Lots of cool, varied terrain, lots of side trips to lakes, unlimited camping opportunities, etc. It was one of the coolest short camping trips I've done.

Check out expeditionutah.com for probably the biggest collections of Utah info and trip reports anywhere. There isn't a whole lot on the Uintas, so if you had a good trip, post up to share the info with others!

It was fun, we decided on Murdock basin area for its proximity to lakes and good off the road camping plus relatively easy access from Kamas. I put a few pics up here.
