Hi folks:
Need some wisdom & experience as I’m new to this era 4Runner…
After acquiring a very clean (frame, interior & exterior) 02 SR5 4Runner from VA, have successfully modified it in many ways …except front end 4way alignment.
Ended up w/ 2-4” lift in front after installing Iron man America’s nice coil over shocks.
Nice look, great product, lifetime warranty, etc.etc.
BUT….after trying OEM and 2 other UCA after market products all promising enough adjustability to correct camber & caster issues (neither did!), and wasting a lot of $, I’m turning to folks here to see if anyone has had success with a reasonably priced solution?
I’m not a mechanic- just passionate lover of all things Toyota & Lexus SUV in particular…

what do your numbers actually look like?
are you actually having driveability problems or you're just neurotic about the numbers not being "green"?

Since I don’t know you, I will try not to take offense at what I would normally take offense at being called neurotic, but I am having Liability issues vibration in the front end, and I don’t wanna wear out KO shoes that I’ve already been cautioned will be likely within a short time. I am not an off-road driver for fun, I drive off road for my work and I choose to enjoy a great classic vehicle to do it in.
And since I was unable to take this nice new ride with me to visit family and relatives and friends for Christmas, approximately 1000 miles from where the truck is now, I can’t go look up what the numbers are but yes, Cameron and Care are out, toe is dead on.

Drivability issues

not trying to be rude.

vibration almost never comes from alignment.

unless you have bad negative caster or very uneven caster i don't see it.

the geometry of these trucks is pretty lame when it comes to lifting them.

a good alignment tech should set the camber as close to zero as possible and the caster as even as they can get it with the parts you have on the truck.

if the vehicle is tracking straight and not all over the road, id be looking at the wheel/tires and axles as the cause of the vibration.

Are those coil overs adjustable? There’s really only a couple options to get your numbers in spec.

- New lower control arms
- New upper control arms
- Lower the lift - usually 2-3” is the max lift to achieve alignment.
-New alignment shop.

To echo what gnob said - caster and camber usually don’t vibrate. Truck will be real “twitchy” and follow ruts in the road, steering will not return to center, tires will wear funny, etc.

Some further investigation into the potential issues is warranted.

I'll be ordering these for my 4th gen in order to get more casters. At least with these, you can dial in a decent amount of casters, if needed. You can get the entire LCAs with these pre-installed or just get the bushings, like me.
