Those lifters look pretty rough to me but can be re-surfaced. More important is how does the cam look? If the lobes are worn but the bearing journals are good and you had decent oil pressure before the tear down (as in my case) you could have the cam & lifters re-surfaced/re-ground. I sent my cam & lifters to "Delta Cams". For how I use my rig they recomended a grind that moved the torque into the lower rpm range. Worked out real well for me at a reasonable price.
The bearings areas are the worse on yours... Did you check into oversized bearings? I know that MAF has... Or at least had cams... Reconditioned ones with matching bearings... Sor as well I think

Just a suggestion but before you invest in new bearings I'd make sure you've got the installation covered. Will you attempt it yourself? Will a machine shop do it for you with the engine in the vehicle? If so how much? Then I'd consider the condition of the rest of the engine. Did it run well? Good compression & oil pressure. Did it burn much oil? How much life is left in the engine. Is a ring job and oversized pistons coming soon? If changing the bearings is a major ticket for you and if you had decent oil pressure before, you might consider using the bearings that are in there. From what I can see in your pics the bearings don't look any worse then mine did. Remember the load on the cam bearings isn't near the load on crank & rod bearings & the cam turns half the speed. Just saying....
Glad you ask that..... This is the story
I get the car in 1993 and for some rason the last owner change here in mexico the engine for a chev 250 wich is very similar to the Oem one.
So I was figthing all the way till last year tuning up clutch to work on ! Uuuuf!
Las year I found this engine wich came from a guy in san antonio TX, and I jus bougt a used 1971 F engine....... $800 bucks, and the only think about that was " engine with all block, carb , manifold, transmision and transfer case....... So I just desmanteling and checking whats goingon with it.....I was hoping to have some thing fine cause the guy say it was running before they take off, and thank you guys I realice that I need to go all the way to the bottom.... This isis the first engine I restore So I been a lots of hours on the net serching for all solutions.... And this tread has been very helpfull.....
Thanks agen!!!

Just got my cam and lifters back from delta camshaft in Washington. Mine was in good shape. 82 on the cam. 2.5 per lifter. Cam bearings from Northern autoparts. They have other bearings, timing gear, etc. Even list an aftermarket cam. Great prices.
Ahhh! The engines not in the vehicle and your rig is running with another engine. That's different. You can take your time. Since you haven't seen it run you might want to see more inside before you spend any more $$ on it. Pull the head maybe? Good luck with it. Keep us posted & some pics would be nice.
I agree especially since you find cotter pins in the pan... You may want to just go through it and see what else is amiss....those do look like cotter pins

Yes, that was me ... kind of except for the mamacita thing... I was with the Mujere
The Melling 803 is the same shape as stock Toyota, just better metallurgy. But I think your prices on stock Toyota parts are much better than USA so that might be the way to go.
