You'll need to pull the cam out with the gear on it to press off the old & press on the new cam gear. That means off with the rocker assembly and out with the push rods & lifters. Keep the push rods & lifters in order so they go back in the same position. The crankshaft gear can just come off & on with the crank in place.

so I need to take of brom the t top the push rods and from the bottom the lifters??
or need to take of the head??
thanks!

Don't take off the head. Remove the valve cover & side cover. Loosen all the valve adjusters and remove the rocker assembly all in one piece. Pull the pushrods up and out keeping them in order. With the side cover off you can access the lifters. They come up and out. Keep them in order also. I used a magnet to lift them out. A piece of tape on the magnet so you don't damage the lifter.

I should add that on mine some off the liffters came right out and some were very stubborn. You get only so much pulling force with the magnet so it took some finesse. I soaked the stubborn ones with penetrating oil then used rapid up & down movements with the magnet but only pulling up so much. Pull too hard and the magnet breaks contact and the lifter drops down on the cam. I'ts all in the wrist. I kept it up until I finally worked through the deposits that were keeping them from lifting right out.

Im starting tonight
thanks!!!
