Whenever I recommend a product, I like to do a followup and see how the item is working out for others. Mine have already exceeeded the lifespan of the various bulbs I've used for the last couple years. Got 'em in the new 97 last month, also. Love that it's got the filament in the proper spot for the factory beam pattern out on the road, etc. I've had a few good night drives with them and the high beams are also excellent.

Only thing I've noticed isn't really a bad thing but a comment. My wife followed me for about an hour the other night and when surrounding traffic is in my mirror to compare, the low beams are clearly brighter than other vehicles. After a while of studying this as various vehicles went by, I kinda feel they're right at the threshold of annoyance but not as bad as a misaligned low beam or those annoying blue bulbs. On the other hand I'm up higher than other vehicles and perhaps they're actually annoying to some others. I have not had anyone flash me at all, however.

How's it going with you guys - good or bad?

There is this guy that is selling the HIR bulbs on ebay w/ the tabs trimed already. You could look on ebay under 9005 or 9006 I believe. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Im sure too you could find a link in FAQ undering lighting. Cary has written up a great amount on this. Hope that is of help.

Working just fine in both my car as well as my daughters. As for lifespan comment if you were reffering to those Hellas we were putting in, it was a tight race between those bulbs and a lit match. These have been great.

I just finally lost one of my previous lamps this last week, which I have been waiting for so hopefully this weekend I will put in all four of the HIR's and join the world of the enlightened.

I've been very happy with my purchase. The low beams brightness and pattern are so much better than stock. I can't see putting anything else back in when these burn out. The hi beams are better but not as noticeable, they were pretty good to start with.

Thanks for organizing the group buy.

two thumbs up from me!

I've had my J-Deere (the old GE ones) in for over a year now, the Toshiba High beams for probably just at a year.

No problems whatsoever. Love them, and think they are just what I was looking for.

I've never had any oncoming traffic flash their brights at me in this time, so I'm assuming that they are aimed correctly as to not be a nuisance.

i like mine too. I like the hugh beams and the low are much better than stock. I have the high W versions of the Hellas in the back of the truck for spares - I was burning these out on a regular basis. I haven't had anyone 'flash' me because I'm blinding them.

Cheers, Hugh

2 of the Daniel Stern HIR low beams for about 4 months and they are working very well. I put 2 of the Hella 100w high beams (Korean versions) at the same time. One of the Hellas lasted about 5 minutes; the other is still holding up but I *rarely* use the high beams.

Thanks for putting the group buy together.

Low DS HIR beams for however long it was since the group buy - working famously. Echoing the thanks as well -

You only put in one on the DS? ???

 They are brighter than my old stock ones and driving in pitch dark places you can really tell the difference. I love them! Highly recommand. I'm glad I got in the GB last time. Thanks again!!!!!

Yeah dude, everyone's doing it. What you put them on both sides??

(DS = Daniel Stern) :)

I put a pair of low beams (Toshibas) from the last group buy, they are still working fine and were a definitive improvement over the stock ones.

Work great.

Work great for me, although I used them very little so far. Nice brightness, good pattern. Good visibility. I feel quite safe driving after dark with the brights on.
Just did not notice a big difference with the bulbs I had on before.
Sure appreciated the headsup and group buy. thanks for the good work.

Put in the John Deere low beams about one year ago. Love them. The 100 series standard high beams are all that I need.

The HIR low beams are substantially brighter than stock (80 percent increase in candlepower, if I remember correctly) and I have been flashed once -- but I am not even thinking about giving these things up!.
