Hello everyone! I've searched through archive posts and looked at diagrams and pictures and can't figure this out for the life of me. I'm trying to to swap out my dash pad lighting module. I'm not sure if I lost it while pulling it out or it currently doesn't longer exists but where is the route the power cable would take from the wiring harness take to get to this light? Its seems there is no hole in the dash that a wire would passthrough to get to it. I'm hoping I could fish around for it but no luck. Does the whole dash have to come off (remove hard top to fold down windshield Ugh!) to get access to this mysterious cable route or is it sitting in plain site and I'm just missing it? Looking at pics with the dashed off I don't see any place it would pass through.

Of course after hours of looking at this problem, the moment I post to the forum....I feel the hole with my finger. Small circular hole directly above and parallel to the hazard light pull. So my follow up question told be, easiest way to get to that location behind the dash? Do I have to completely pull the heater the heater core out or gain....it would be windshield down, dash pad out and attack from the top?

Idk, about the 79 model. You might be able to remove the heater duct on the pass side and maybe the ashtray to see inside. You might have to unbolt the heater but leave it hooked up.
