I understand that the 2000 LC did not come with a cabin filter but a section where one can be installed. If I purchase a 2006-07 LC cabin filter from Toyota, will this one fit a 2000 LC?

Thanks!

I think you'll pay out the nose for cabin filters if you buy them from toyota. I bought them for my 99 from www.toyotapartsstore.com. They weren't listed for a LC but I found them under Lexus LX470. they were only $13.00 each. However, I don't notice that they have done anything. I just hope they help keep debris out of the car.

Awesome, thanks!

It might be a good idea to first check if you have the filter door. My buddy's '01 LC doesn't have it. I got mine at densoproducts (2 in a box, $26/box). FWIW, they have the exact same markings on the filter frame as the OEM lexus ones.

What p/n for the filters from densoproducts.com?

I checked p/n 453-1001 there, and the price is $50.91, with qty 2 required. (A far cry from $26/box for 2 per box.)

Local Toyota dealer wants $20 each, for p/n 88568-60010. ( toyotapartscheap.com wants $16 each plus shipping, so I'm ready to drive down and buy local instead, since net price is about the same as $16 plus shipping.)

Hmmm...

How about $14 each, no sales tax AND free shipping ? :D

I just took a look at the website and they don't even show up under the LX470 anymore. That P/N does ring a bell. There are 2 in a box.

Purchased mine from Lexus a year ago. $50+/- for the two. Just go get it and be done with it. :D

Yeah, just checked and I have the filter door. If I buy from Toyota, do I need to buy qty 2 for P/N 88568-60010?

thanks

Based on the Toyota (Lexus actually) OEM cabin filters I have purchased from Toyota: Yes: Order 2 quantity to get 2 filters.

Searched the threads and found that the filter can be ordered here for $13.95 plus shipping:

http://www2.maximumautoparts.com/par...=null&dp=false

You only need to order qty 1 (per the thread) as each comes with two filters.

We'll see.

Thanks.

You didn't search hard enough (neither did I!). Look at JustImagineJack's response in the cabin air filter FAQ. He ordered the most recently from maximumautoparts and got NPN-brand, made in China filters, 1 per box. I made the mistake of ordering last night thinking I'd get Densos w/ 2 in a box, but only discovered his response w/ photo this morning. It was too late to cancel, so I will be refusing the UPS shipment and will get the Denso's. If I can't get them anymore for a reasonable price, I'll order from CDan.

Shoot - already ordered the NPN part but thankfully I ordered two. I am going to go ahead and try these - my LC is a daily driver and does not experience much off road action (only in winter when I go to mammoth). I will try to post an update on the performance of these filters.

You get 24 hrs to refuse the order once it arrives. When the UPS guy comes, just refuse the package, then call maximum auto and tell them you refused it. This is what they told me to do. I called up UPS and they said if it gets delivered while you're at work, call them up and they will arrange to pick it up.

Installed without hitch and so far so good.

Ok...after several really dusty excursions I yanked the cabin filters. They were packed with fine dust...just the kind we have all over Nevada:rolleyes:.

Anyway, even though I had an extra new pair to throw in, I decided to see if the Denso's could be cleaned. I rinsed them off well...then soaked them in dish washing detergent and very warm water in a 5-gallon bucket. After a couple rounds of agitating them in the soap water...then a final rinse they appear to be very clean! And no harm to the material.

FWIW: It looks like a way to extend the life of these filters!

If you put them back in and continue using them, please post your experiences over the next service interval (1 year?).

Filters like these may be treated with antifungal and/or antibacterial agent.

(I've heard of auto HVAC Evaporator coils/fins being treated thus, so the filter might also be a candidate for such treatment.)

Can anyone confirm this, for these filters?

Hadn't thought of that...I usually replace them 3x per year minimum due to the dusty conditions of where I run my LC.
