The seat I used gave about 4 inches more room. Not enough in my opinion but better than stock. Rock Buggy supply sold it to me.
Good guys.

first off your rig is awesome. who or what is rock buggy? stupid question i know, and do you know the depth of that seat?

It might sound silly at first but it does work. If you raise the seat up, you can also gain leg room. I lifted my seats about 2" and gained TONS of legroom... just a thought!

There is just no way for someone that is 6'5" to comfortably fit in a swb. unless you got more body than leg. I'm 6'4 with 36" inseam and it's a rough go and the main reason i've passed on swb 45's

is there that much more room in a 45 long bed?...ben i know you are one tall fella and i don't hear you saying you don't fit...but if that becomes a problem...oh in lets say the next 3 days let me know and i will bring a second truck and trailer and take yours off your hands!

LOL...I"m sure my wife would peddle it extremely quikly to ya

oh it's tight, but it's not as bad as I thought actually...it's a bit tight now as everytime I drive it, i'm damn near in full Mt. Everest expedition wear... love this cold weather...I am sorta interested in what seat Gary is using. If it's 4" more than stock, than that would help a ton.

Gary, what size of seat is that???

My seat is full width, 41" from where your lower back would rest to the vertical part of the firewall, and 14.5 inches from the floor where your thigh would rest. I am not tall, 5-10" and it fits pretty well. I tried the stock seat and it was very uncomfortable at best. This is a big improvement. Having a shorter steering column helped a huge amount also.

ya i have a chevy tilt colum in it right now, just put a 13 inch gt wheel on it to free up some space it had a 16 inch wheel on it before.

Yeah, the factory is a bit on the uncomfy side  What is the full width size? I need to have room for 3 as well...

Go to www.redart.com. They now own Beard Superseats, one of the original suspension seat companies. They will make their "Standard Bench" from 36" to 60" wide in 1" increments. starting at $399.

I've wondered is a bench seat from an early ninties regular cab Toyota Pickup would work well in a 45.

I've personally never ridden in a 45, but have ridden in the older pickups, the little bench seat is very slim profiled on the back to fit in the pickup cab, and is a 40/60 split. May be good, but I have not measured one to see if it would fit in the cab at all.

anyone try this approach? Junk yard would probably have some.

I thought the size of the cab had to do with the removable non-removable top. Pretty sure the removable top SWB trucks share the same cab as the LWB trucks.

Same here John. I've got one of each and I can't tell the difference.;)

well hopefuly the seats i got from mark wil work  thanks mark!

Your right. I normally associate swb with fixed tops. I just don't see that many removable top swb pickups. I know they are out there. I wonder how many swb fixed tops were sold vs. removable tops....

mine is a removable top and my g/f ( the person i got mine from) her dad who owned before he pasted away had two swb removable tops and sold one and i have the other.
