Here again...
what do you know it's me again. So after all of the edic problems i went to start her up and nothing. No glow light, no charge light and no starter. Edic motor, however moves just fine. Using an ohmeter from the local autzone I determine the ignition relay is bad. Meanwhile, I managed to figure out a bypass using several wires and can get her started and stopped. However, the alternator is barely charging and the dash lights don't work. Before the relay problem they were fine so I'm guessing its in how i have it wired. An awful diagram of what i did so hopefully you can tell me if I going to break something. Right hand drive hj60

rear passenger side 4 _ _ 2 front passenger side
_ _
rear driver side 3 1 front driver

Imagine each dash is a relay post with a corresponding number. I connected 4 and 2, 3 and 1, 1 and 2 via a switch.

thanks for the time. it's greatly appreciated.

dammit. the dashes are obviously 4 grouped together (four prong relay)

David, I thought you needed an ignition cylinder? Is your truck 12V or 24V? I have a 12V ignition relay you can borrow. Call me.

Dave

the truck is 24volt. and yes, it is the igniton relay I am after.

thanks dave.

this is almost comical. Found a wire that was torn off at the high side terminal- repaired it and relay works perfectly. Now the wipers are intermittent when the lever is in the "off" position, and turning on the heater shuts the engine off while making an obnoxious buzzing sound at that relay. Ah, gotta love electrical (especially when you can't get parts!!!!) just need to vent a bit.
