Hey guys,

directed to this forum by a bunch of people so figured i should check it out. got a line on a 1990 HDJ81 with 110000km and an underbody that looks like gold. yeah it's RHD but how else will i get a diesel? anyway, getting it for $14000CDN. what do you think? Thanks for humoring a newbie:)

If you've done the usual pre-purchase checks and maintenance records, I say go for it! Diesel, apparently in great condition, not too many miles at all--not bad of a price for what you get.

Plus I love the "Super 4-Wheel Drive" emblem on your front bumper (that bumper is worthless by the way for any serious wheeling or winching).

Cheers--and welcome!

Dave

Bu the way does it come with the 5-speed manual tranny?

yeah, the bumper is cheesy but hey, buying it used:) it's an auto. it's also got 16" aftermarket rims, a wooden steering wheel and an icebox that works. nothing useful like lockers or a mild lift:)

looks good
looks a bit higher than usual, no? or are these small tires?

Looks nice!

Seeing it being from "Miyagi" does it come with the "cold climate" option with seat heaters, radiator shutter, etc...?

Is it $14,000CDN with shipping, duties and everything paid for?

Regardless, congrats and enjoy!!!

Mot ;)

The price is good, and I am sure you will enjoy it. Welcome to the club.

Things to check:
Have the big end bearings been done yet?
Also have the headlights been switched out to DOT approved ones?

Cheers,
Nick

yeah, cold weather options with the heated seats. $14000cdn all in, includes safety, duties and import.

tell me more about the DOT approved headlamps, I'm not sure about that.

Nick - I'm in Fernie, maybe i'll see your rig.

PM me your number.
It would be easier to fill you in over the phone.

We will also have to go wheeling together sometime.

Cheers,
Nick

With 110,000 make sure the timing belt has been done. it should have been done at 100,000. If not get it done because if it breaks it can do big damage$$$$$$$$$$$$. Apart from that it looks real nice..

I talked to that guy on the phone about the exact same truck.... serious salesman pitch scared me away.... didnt know about the BEB...
